Florida Women in Solar (FWS) was launched in 2023 at the Florida Solar & Storage in Sarasota, Florida by the FlaSEIA Board of Directors, who were inspired to encourage more women to become involved in all facets of the solar and energy storage industry and to take senior positions in leading companies.

Our Mission
The FlaSEIA Board of Directors saw an opportunity to provide a forum for ambitious students and industry professionals to make meaningful connections with peers, mentors, and companies. FWS aims to increase the number of women in leading positions in the solar and energy storage workforce. FWS is committed to hosting networking events and mentoring sessions to help women connect and advance their careers.
Florida Women in Solar Woman of the Year Award
We are excited to introduce a new award, to be announced during the 2025 Florida Solar & Storage Summit, May 12-14, 2025 in Tampa, Florida.
The Florida Women in Solar (#FLSolarWomen) Woman of the Year Award aims to recognize and celebrate the exceptional contributions of women in the solar and energy storage industry. Your participation in nominating a candidate is essential for highlighting the achievements and impact of women who are making significant strides in this field.
Do you know a woman who stands out? Has she made a difference or impacted you in some way? There are many ways individuals can effect change: through their work environment, community involvement, online presence, mentorship, or perhaps by inspiring others without even realizing it. With women constituting only a small fraction of our industry, it is crucial to acknowledge and celebrate those who are instrumental in our collective growth.
ELIGIBILITY
Submissions are accepted until March 15, 2025. By submitting an entry, each contestant states that he or she is 18 years or older.
