From concept to design, this project transcended mere solar panel installation; it was about showcasing it as an educational tool for future generations. Situated at the school, its design seamlessly integrated solar technology into daily student life, doubling as both a sustainable source of energy and shelter during drop-offs and pickups. Zyscovich's meticulous planning not only garnered crucial LEED accreditation points but also ensured a harmonious fusion with the existing architectural landscape. Taking into consideration that this project was part of significant renovation efforts by the school, integrating the existing building structure was a crucial aspect of the aesthetics and material selection. The project encountered several significant challenges beyond ensuring aesthetic appeal and seamless integration with the existing structure. These included accommodating long spans between main support columns to clear existing underground utilities, meeting height requirements for emergency vehicles, and addressing the installation within a High-Velocity Hurricane Zone.
