GULF BREEZE, Fla. (WEAR) —
Gulf Breeze High School is powering up for the future. A science teacher and some of her students teamed up to bring solar to school.
When Michael Palermo and Addie Sims look back on their senior year, they’ll remember bringing renewable energy to their school.
Palermo said, “Anything that you can convert within reason I think you should always try to, any small lifestyle change that you can make – that lessens your ecological footprint.”
In this case, it’s a solar installation at Gulf Breeze High School. The project is the brainchild of teacher Erin Cosky, who happens to be Santa Rosa County’s teacher of the year.
Cosky said, “I wanted to do a project that would affect the whole school, so that even the students that I don’t have could see, ‘Wow, we as a school community could make a difference.'” [click for full story]
