On September 20, 2011, FlaSEIA Executive Director Bruce Kershner met with Patrick Sheehan, the newly appointed Director of the Office of Energy, which now operates within the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (DACS). Earlier in the day, Mr. Sheehan gave presentations to the House Energy & Utilities Subcommittee and Senate Communications, Energy & Public Utilities Committee.
Since July, DACS has gone through two full reviews of all the remaining applications and are in the process of finalizing check payment with the Department of Financial Services. Mr. Sheehan reported there is now approximately $25 million that will be applied to the roughly 10,900 residential and commercial rebate applications in the queue. These rebates will be paid at approximately $0.55 on the dollar, and the checks will go out at the end of September and beginning of October.
