On Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, President Obama signed into law the bipartisan tax cut bill, which includes a one-year extension of the Treasury Grant Program (TGP). The extension is critical for keeping up the solar industry's momentum during a difficult economic recovery and challenges in the financial markets. This is a major win for the U.S. solar industry and one that could not have been achieved without the help of SEIA's members and our bipartisan champions on the Hill. This group includes Senators Reid, Cantwell, Feinstein, LeMieux, Ensign and Congressmen Thompson, Blumenauer, and Holt. This was an all around sustained effort from everyone on Team Solar. Extending TGP helps solar continue to grow in 2011 and beyond, creating much-needed jobs and investment.
